I design, code, and build art installations. Interweaving media archaeology, studio art practice, and computer vision/computational imaging, I am driven by the necessity to investigate and critique contemporary image culture from its technological and material basis. This often leads to installations that unravel the digital imaging apparatus in physical space and include the spectators in an interactive discourse about digital content creation, manipulation, and consumption. My artwork has been featured in SIGGRAPH Asia, ICCP, International Architecture Biennale of São Paulo, and several art galleries.
Besides creating art independently, I work during the day as a software engineer in the Bay Area. Prior, I was a graduate student and research assistant at the Rendering and Imaging Science (RISC) Lab at Dartmouth College. Advised by Adithya Pediredla, I did research in continuous wave time-of-flight (CWToF) cameras, while working on interdisciplinary art projects. My research in continuous-wave time-of-flight (CWToF) camera was published in CVPR and presented at the CCD workshop and ICCP.
NEW: I will attend Siggraph Asia 2024 in Tokyo and present my paper, “Embodied Visions: Interactive Installations That Reimagine Bodily Presence in Digital Imaging Apparatuses as Shadows”.
